following the dazzling debut 12 inch, crumbs hit us with another stunner! although delivering a mysterious & scantily clad 12 inch is hardly a novel concept these days, it does concentrate the mind (and feet) on the music more than the brand. it is undercover time again, and we are sworn to secrecy, of course ... but three producers of considerable note contribute here.

after first appearing on dont be afraid in 2010 as a remixer, the mighty mr. g is back with a solo ep for the dancefloor-aimed dba special editions series.

one of these things is not like the others. put veteran producer and general madman eddie ruscha (aka secret circuit, laughing light of plenty, dadamunchamunky) in a studio with the spritely whipper-snapper diego herrera (aka suzanne kraft & 1/3 pharaohs) and your results will be nothing less than an epic jam. as the name blasé suggests, their laxadasical style and confident panache is abundant. the duo ease into their productions with a cool hand and an open mind, letting the moment take them somewhere foreign to bask in surreal surroundings, but not without documenting the trip.

next michel cleis masterpiece , this time on dj kozes pampa records... >mir a nero< begins with a steady, upbeat kick underlying a simple piano arpeggio - like if philip glass make dance music - but then some accents of vibrant hand percussion loosen up the vibe, soon progressing into rhythmic layers that cause the energy to swell. by the 4-minute mark, a subtle, buzzing synth permeates the background, contrasting the tracks overall organic feel, leading into the playful piano chords and colombian vocal hook. simply put, this is latin house with that anomalous pampa records swagger, drenched with flavor like sangria-soaked mango. flip that baby over and you get >amaranthus<, named after the famed flower that represents immortality. this piece stands as a color-negative of >mir a nero<, an unwavering stomp with just shadows of the piano sample heard earlier. freeze-dried rather than sun-ripened, >amaranthus< is a dubby, more technofied counterpart to the a-side, crafted for deeper and darker moments on the dancefloor.

back and cooking up more funk and flavor with his second album for rekids, mr g proves hes still the king of rhythm with state of flux. packing more history than most of the top current producers put together, mr g has been fine-tuning his breed of music for two decades. described by the man himself as its all about a bassline, his music takes the formula of a ballad and the movement of reggae.

after i heard enol s beautiful track white mango on initial cut, i felt the need to reach out. i had a long and friendly conversation with matthieu (enola) about our musical background and agreed on the fact that we both have a weakness for pop music and early detroit techno, and quickly came to the conclusion that something with a little pop would be perfect for the label. enola came to us with >slow motion< featuring the vocals of will caulfield. its something different for enola, and something different for us, deep techno pop, perfect for 5am! enola is the new project of french dj matthieu monnin, who used to be part of the techno outfit noirdegout. matthieu now works on his own, finding his niche in melodious techno, taking inspiration from the sounds of the nineties. he has done work with the likes of rodriguez jr, anoraak, and arno gonzalez, and now he joins correspondant with >slow motion<. on the flip side, nhar, the other half of correspondant turns the darkness into light with for me, his best remix to date. if the original is for 5am, nhars remix is for 5pm, when the sun still shines and its warmth still remains.

sea power & change is a pseudonym for seminal portuguese producer tiago, a multi-talented musician and dj with his attention split between many musical endeavors, this self-titled ep marking his departure into yet another territory. these are four melancholic songs, each independent in mood yet collectively bringing to life a beautifully vague array of contradictions. with sea power & change, tiago taps into our perverted subconscious, developing a cinematic approach by coupling tragic pianos with slow-motion basslines, slinky guitars against industrial drums and grandiose synthesizers over tropical percussion, all bathed in pornographic overtones

some things seem to have a symbiotic relationship. prime example: a low-key electronic soundscape that leaves room for roaming thoughts, inhabited by an ethereal voice that colours in the musical silhouettes conjured in the minds eye. for his first ep since the >mango remixes< in 2008, sascha funke calls upon russian nina kraviz to make a feature appearance. with her releases on rekids, b77 and underground quality, this young woman has brought a rare combination of talents to bear: she sings, plays and produces with an equally astounding level of expertise. so what we have here is an encounter between of germanys most incisive techno producers and a singer of considerable charisma.

the waiting is finally over! after all the ups and downs of the past year, we can happily report that joshua eustis now firmly intends to continue telefon tel aviv as a solo project. in order to mark his decision with a bang, thewonderful title track >immolate yourself< is being released as the second single from the current lp. the song has been entrusted to highly acclaimed and diverse remix artists who have skilfully stripped down the epic album track to more club-friendly formats.
the a side is delivered by label-mate thomas muller, whose finely detailed techno soundscapes can now be enjoyed on five bpc 12 inch releases. his >immolate< remix takes a much more direct approach. he reduces the lush arrangement of the original to a powerful basic framework, leaves out the vocals almost entirely, and creates a surprise when the track crumbles into sonic chaos towards the end.
miss fitz aka maayan nidam has had singles released on labels including raum musik and freak n chic, and these have been remixed by renowned artists such as ricardo villalobos. her version of >immolate< also makes a clear break from the album track and serves up her very own brand of abstract, dancefloor-friendly house. once again, all the opulence of the original is thrown overboard, a dry beat is placed at the centre of the arrangement and enriched with sinuous vocals.
ben klock needs no further introduction - he is the epitome of the bleak, hard minimal sound. his album >one< is currently available on ostgut ton, and as a remixer he has earned the highest acclaim for his version of depeche modes >peace<. bens >jack mix< is fittingly titled and lives up to all the expectations of the name. the track is stripped back to a resounding, hammer-like beat framework - minimised for maximum effect.
